Horses at a Schooling Show

Bainbridge Island Saddle Club is a membership organization whose purpose is to support riders and their horses on Bainbridge Island and the surrounding areas.  BISC owns and maintains a riding facility with easy access to trails in Manzanita Park.

Facilities include: a large arena with covered viewing stand, office, judges tower, cook shack, restrooms, covered picnic area, a smaller warm-up arena, stalls for day use, and water.

BISC hosts five hunter/jumper schooling shows each year.  The primary emphasis is to provide a fun and supportive environment for members to gain experience with their horses.   Shows are held April through September. Pre-registration is not required (class entry forms can be filled out in advance, see navigation bar to your left), although it is recommended that stalls be reserved in advance.

BISC supports the local equestrian community by making the faciilities available to Pony Club, sponsoring clinics and schooling shows, and allowing private and semi-private lessons in the arena.  The facility is also available as a rental.

BISC is funded through annual membership fees, show fees, and donations of time, money, and expertise from members and the community.  It is governed by an elected Board of Directors.

Volunteer

BISC is run entirely on volunteered services from members and the community. We urge you ("horse-y" or not) to come out and help at a playday or work party, or email ideas for improvement to a board member. Not only is BISC helping local equines, it plays a key role in preserving open space on Bainbridge Island.
