Hi Everyone, I just stopped by to see the finished stall footing at the Saddle Club, and had to share the moment with you!  Branden, with E&B Earth Movers, did a fantastic job.

Thanks to Michelle Hutchins for overseeing this, and to Jackie Chipman for all of her previous legwork!

Hope to see all of you at our March Spring Clean-up, where you can appreciate this improvement for yourselves!

Thank you to all who helped organize, decorate and execute our annual Awards Banquet. Special thanks to Michele Hutchins, Lisa Thomas, Trina LaRoche, Amy James, Jackie Flannery, Holly Hutchison, Laura Wise and Christina and Eric Thorsted. These people planned, created, cooked and gave up hours of time for us so we could enjoy a relaxing and festive night out amongst friends. Thank you all!

This month’s trail work party will be taking place in Grand Forest East on Saturday 28th from 10am-1pm.Please join the Trails Advisory Committee in Fall maintenance. Work will include assessing potential Winter water problems, moving previously downed trees further off trail, and pruning back alongside the extensive trail system.

This is a popular trail system amongst bikers, equestrians, runners, and walkers alike, so please come join us in enhancing GFE for all!

Please meet at the Mandus Olson Rd parking lot off New Brooklyn Rd.

This posting is from the Friends of the Farms organization here on BI:

Calling all Pony enthusiasts: We are interested in having Pony Rides available at the Friends of the Farms Harvest Fair coming up in two weeks on Sunday, Sept. 24th, from 11-5pm, located at the Johnson Farm, off of Fletcher Bay road ...  We would ideally have the rides available for the most part of the day, and we would anticipate it being quite popular, so multiple ponies would be ideal.  Please contact me if you have information on making this happen.  Please contact Lizzie Berg @ 2066310362 or lizzie.berg@friendsofthefarms.org

In order to set up for our FINAL Hunter/Jumper Schooling Show of the season this Saturday, September 23rd, we will need to close the club on Friday to prepare the arenas. Sorry for any inconvenience. Look forward to seeing you at the show!

Please join us and our show sponsor, Blue Heron Farm, this Saturday for our 4th schooling show of the 2017 season. It is also our "double points" show! So check your standing under the membership/points tab and come on down and improve your placing if you can. In preparation for this show, we will be watering all week long. If you wish to use the club and watering is underway in one arena, please use the other arena. Also, please do not move the water wheel or disrupt the wheel's cycle. Sorry for any inconvenience this causes but it is essential to water for multiple days prior the show when it is as dry and as hot as it has been this summer. Hope to see you on Saturday!

At the conclusion of this season, I will be stepping down as president of the club. I will stay on board to help guide the next president in their duties and responsibilities but will be drastically reducing my time spent doing BISC work. With this in mind, I implore members to consider joining the governing board of the Saddle Club. There will be 3 member at large openings in 2018. Without filling these slots, the club will have no choice but to curtail some of its shows or worse. For too long, too few have been doing too much. Now it is time to step up and volunteer for Saddle Club.
