2025 BISC Committees

Membership

Includes emails to members, form updates, approvals, hard copies, etc. 

  • Approve new memberships on the website.
  • Manage renewals and existing memberships.
  • Manage trainer insurance requirements, and obtaining the required forms from members.

Events

Responsibilities include organizing and managing Horse Shows, Clinics, Informational Seminars, etc. Committee members are required to volunteer their time at events by setting up, cleaning up, and running general operations for the selected event.  Overseeing office work and organizing paperwork is also a big part of this committee's responsibilities.

Awards & Merchandise

Responsible for overseeing the organizing and general ordering of ribbons, awards, and other various rewards needed throughout the Saddle Club show season.  Crunching numbers, and reporting options for gifts, as well as our end of the year awards system.

Grounds/Facilities

Includes general maintenance around the grounds, plus the following:

      • Arena Dragging – Responsible for having the arenas dragged every month or before and during events.
      • Arena Watering – Responsible for watering the arenas in preparation for events.
      • Lawn Mowing – Responsible for making sure the grounds are mowed as needed prior to events.
      • Organize volunteers to mow, drag arenas, weed whack on a regular schedule.
      • Tractor maintenance.
      • Regular check ins of the club to identify anything that may need repairs.
      • Train volunteers on how to use new equipment when needed.
      • Identify areas for capital improvement.
      • Maintain buildings and organize repairs (plumbing, electrical, painting, security, roofs, gutters).

Fundraising/Development

This includes the organization of the requirements to maintain BISCs non-profit status. Coordinating grants and other funding opportunities available for club as a non-profit.  Reaching out to local businesses, or the general public on top of our members in order to advertise fundraising opportunities for the club, as well as sponsorship opportunities. This also includes the management of our relationships with One Call for All, Kitsap Great Gives, etc.

Communications


Includes the creation of a regular newsletter, events calendar, flyers, etc. and all Social Media posts - including posting updates, news, events, etc. on Social Media sites such as Facebook, Twitter, etc. Monitors other postings on the site for items that need responses. Responsible for monitoring club email account and responding and/or forwarding as necessary.


Strategic Planning


Working out the fine-tuning of our Board's current prioritized plans.  

      • They assist with anything from marketing to membership assistance.
      • Reaching out to outside resources that could benefit the club.
