    • Practical and problem-solving focused
    • Rooted in real-world usefulness rather than just arena performance

    Who it’s for

    • Better control of their horse’s body (steering, stopping, bending)
    • Increased confidence navigating obstacles
    • Improved partnership and trust

How to read a full course

A full course is essentially a pattern you memorize and ride in order, usually with 10–15 obstacles spread around the arena.

You’ll start at a designated point and follow numbered obstacles like a flow course.

    Typical flow (example patterns)

Intro to Groundwork Sat & Sun 9-12pm $150.00 - basics of groundwork in the vaquero tradition. Learn how to help your horse get more soft & connected, teach them to respond rather than react, and help them find balance & security so they can find peace.

Troubleshooting: Saturday 4-6pm $50.00 - Looking for some help with a specific problem? Sign up for this bonus session with Lisa who can help address specific questions and issues. It will be an open format

    - helping with pushy horses/those that feel dangerous to lead (crowders)

    - troubleshoot trailering

    - trouble with bridling, saddling, mounting

    - helping with horses that have a hard time with farrier (picking up feet) or vet work

    About the Clinician:

Lisa learned to ride at 8 years old from a tough-as-old-boot-leather woman in the backcountry of the North Cascades and grew up riding alongside cowboys & ranchers, as well as "showing" in small-town 4-H shows.

She spent her college years exercising show jumpers (and taking just enough lessons in jumping so she knew how to not get in their way!) and teaching beginner riding lessons to all ages.

Lisa discovered the Vaquero style of horsemanship about 12 years ago and found a way of connecting with and educating the horse that she had been searching for since childhood - a way of working with them, "as if the horse had a say in how we go about it".

The core philosophies of this work empower the horse through softness, feel, and true connection, building their confidence and offering them emotional and mental peace, in any circumstances. They also encourage us humans to find peace within ourselves, recognize and regulate our energy, and to be present with our equine partners.

    In her own words:

"Something I love about this work is that it is simply Good Horsemanship - and therefore applies to any and all riding disciplines, any and all breeds of horses, and is especially useful for horses who may not have had the best start with the Human Experience.

I am incredibly passionate about helping the horse get along in this crazy human world, and a huge part of that comes from helping their humans find a way of working that is fair and makes sense to both species."

Registration is open to members on a first-come, first-served basis. If spots remain by July 1, 2026, we will open registration to non-members.

    Trailer and Hauling Safety Clinic

If you’ve ever said any of the following...

    • “It towed fine last time.”

    • “That noise is probably nothing.”

    • “The tires look good.”

    • “I’ll deal with it when I get there.”

...then this clinic is for you. This session is designed to help you build the judgment needed to stay safe on the road. We focus on real trailers and real scenarios so you don't become "roadside entertainment" while your horses watch from the box.

    What You Will Learn

By the end of this clinic, you’ll be able to walk up to most trailers and know—within minutes—whether it’s Safe, Questionable, or a Problem waiting to happen.

    Key Takeaways:

    • Spot Problems Early: Recognize structural issues before they become expensive failures.

    • Towing Physics: Understand weight, tongue weight, payload, and tow limits in plain English.

    • Electrical Mastery: Spot common issues that cause flickering lights and roadside stress.

    • Tire Health: Evaluate tires for age, cracking, inflation, and real-world risk.

    • Flat Tire Safety: Learn to change a flat safely using a tire-changing ramp—no crawling under the trailer or sacrificing your dignity.

    Meet Your Instructor: Robert Eversole

We are proud to host Robert Eversole, "The TrailMeister." Robert is the author of The ABCs of Trail Riding and Horse Camping and spends months each year leading clinics across the US and internationally.

His mission is to help horse owners escape the arena and enjoy the great outdoors. Robert’s clinics are known for a mix of candid humor, straight talk, and actionable steps that build real confidence for you and your animals.
