Bainbridge Island Saddle Club Open Show – General Rules & Policies

To ensure a safe, fair, and enjoyable experience for all participants, please review the following rules and policies prior to the show:

1. Show Attire

  • Traditional show attire is encouraged but not required.

  • All riders must wear long pants and appropriate footwear: boots or riding shoes with a closed toe and a defined heel are required for safety.

  • All riders must wear an ASTM/SEI-certified helmet while mounted on the show grounds. This rule applies to all ages and disciplines, without exception.

  • Failure to comply with these policies will result in disqualification from the show.

2. Office Hours & Show Start Time

  • The show office will open at 7:00 AM on show day.

  • The show will begin promptly at 8:00 AM.

  • The main show ring will close for warm-up at 7:30 AM to allow for final preparations.

3. Entry Changes & Additions

  • Class adds or changes must be submitted no later than three (3) classes prior to the desired class.

  • All adds and changes must be completed through the show office and are subject to time and schedule availability.

4. Lunging Policy

  • Only one horse may be lunged at a time in the warm-up arena.

  • Please be courteous to others and limit your time to ensure fair access for all exhibitors.

5. Office Fee

  • A $15 non-refundable office fee is required per rider entry.

  • This fee is used to support the administrative and facility costs associated with the event.

6. Refund Policy

  • No refunds will be given for scratches, no-shows, or weather-related changes unless the entire show is cancelled by Bainbridge Island Saddle Club (BISC).

  • In the event of an official cancellation, class fees will be refunded. The office fee remains non-refundable under all circumstances.

7. Conduct & Sportsmanship

  • Riders, trainers, and spectators are expected to behave in a respectful and sportsmanlike manner at all times.

  • Unsportsmanlike conduct, inappropriate behavior, or mistreatment of horses will not be tolerated and may result in removal from the premises.

8. Liability, Risk & Waivers

  • Participation is at your own risk. Bainbridge Island Saddle Club and its representatives are not responsible for accidents, injuries, or losses to riders, horses, or property.

All riders must sign the required BISC waivers before competing. No rider will be permitted to show without a completed and signed release forms on file.
