October 18th, 2023 - We met our fund raising goal!
Next up: Demolition work parties!
Stay tuned as we will be putting out the call for a volunteer force to help tear out the old bathrooms.
The bathrooms located at Bainbridge Island Saddle Club have surpassed their lifespan and are in desperate need of upgrades and repairs. These bathrooms serve over 200 users per summer and were built over 40 years ago! The older toilets are pre 1980 and use over 3 gallons of water per flush, they also tend to run excessively and have created condensation damage to the surrounding walls. The walls in the bathroom area need to be replaced, chances are if you've visited us in the last year you've noticed that several have already been torn out due to water damage. In the past year several pipes have also failed due to free-created breaks, as well as age. As a result of multiple plumbing failures the club has had to absorb the cost of renting a Porta Potty in order to have a reliable bathroom option.
The completed project will include 2 single occupancy unisex bathrooms, one of which will be ADA compliant. Improvements will include new toilets, replacement of pipes with pex piping, and new interior wall paneling.
Fundraising goal met. Thank you donors!
The estimated cost for the project is $22,000.00. We have already raised $15,000 through a $7,500 grant from Rotary Club of Bainbridge Island and a matching donation from a generous donor. This leaves the Bainbridge Island Saddle Club with an additional $7,000 left to raise before October 31st, 2023. The deadline needs to be met to receive the grant from Rotary. Bainbridge Island Saddle Club is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, your donations are tax-deductible.
