BI Trail Work Party

  • 27 Jun 2015
  • 12:00 PM - 3:00 PM
  • Gazzam Lake Park, Deerpath Lane, Bainbridge Island, WA 98110

The Bainbridge Island Metro Parks and Rec District (BIMPRD) and the Trails Advisory Committee are holding a Trail Work Party on Saturday, June 27, 2015 from NOON TO 3 PM.

Please consider participating in this event to help us demonstrate our equestrian commitment to maintaining our wonderful trail system for all to enjoy!

Both Saddle Club and Pony Club have contributed manure forks to help remove manure; when left on the trail manure eventually turns into the mud we are all so familiar with battling in our turnouts!

On June 27 only, the trails group will meet at noon instead of the usual 10 AM start time to allow you and your family to attend the Rotary Auction which begins in the morning of June 27.  The group will meet at NOON by the water towers on the main Gazzam Trail, accessed via Deerpath Lane.  Due to the very limited parking on Deerpath Lane itself, the Park District will open the gate that is just north of the small Deerpath trailhead parking lot and allow drivers to park back near the water towers.  Signs will show you the way.

In April and May Trail Work Parties, volunteers worked mainly on lower sections of the new Veterane trail, but on June 27 the group will  extend the trail up the final switchback where it will reach the level plateau area not far from where the new trail will intersect the main Gazzam trail.  We hope you and your friends will join the group on June 27.

Thanks so much for your participation in our equestrian community!
