 PILATES for the EQUESTRIAN
 with Tami Turnbull

·         Saturday, June 6, 11:30 am to 12:30 PM
LIVE via Zoom

Join Tami Turnbull as she leads you through a series of pilates exercises specifically designed for the equestrian. (Taught to accommodate all levels...No previous pilates experience needed!).

Whether you ride western, dressage or hunter jumper, Pilates for the Equestrian will help every rider build a stronger connection with their horse and improve balance and flexibility.

PREMISE:  While they use different terms, both Pilates and dressage share an emphasis on the torso, or "Powerhouse" in Pilates-speak, and achieving core strength, good posture, and muscle flexibility. The goals of a Pilates program are often identical to what riders try to achieve in the saddle

COURSE DESCRIPTION:  Pilates is a proven conditioning method to strengthen the core muscles used in riding and improves balance. It is a form of exercise used by equestrians of all and its benefits can be seen to improve posture, muscle tone and to provide stability for the pelvis and shoulders - essential for the rider. Dressage riders achieve better harmony with their horse as a tweak of a muscle by the rider can convey a subtle, but effective message to the horse. Eventers or showjumpers can improve their balance over a fence and become more effective in their seat.
